How it works
The client pays from their bank into a dedicated BNZ client trust account. No cards, no chargebacks.
Both sides can see the money is there. It stays put while the work happens.
When the client approves, the provider is paid in the next business-day payout run.
What it costs
A percentage is not an answer, so here is the whole sum on a $1,000 job. No monthly fee, no setup cost, no lock-in. The full amount is held on trust in NZD until release.

Questions
wlbr is a New Zealand escrow payments service. A seller creates an escrow payment, the buyer funds it from their bank, and wlbr holds the money on trust in NZD until the buyer confirms the deal is done - then it's released to the seller, minus a flat fee.
When a buyer funds a payment, the money is held in escrow in wlbr's dedicated client trust account rather than going straight to the seller. Funds are only released when the buyer confirms the deal has been met, and if there's a disagreement the affected funds are paused until it's resolved. The trust account is kept separate from wlbr's own funds and reconciled regularly.
Buyers pay by a direct bank-to-bank transfer initiated through Akahu open banking - no credit cards and no card details to enter. The money goes straight into wlbr's client trust account. Because payments come directly from the bank, there are no card chargebacks.
Add your New Zealand bank account in your dashboard, create an escrow payment for the agreed amount, and share the link with your buyer. Approval queues the payout for the next business-day payout run, minus wlbr's flat 1.9% + GST fee. Bank processing determines when it arrives.
A simple, flat 1.9% + GST fee on each escrow payment, shown up front before the buyer funds and deducted when the funds are released. There are no monthly fees and no subscriptions.
Tasks hired through the wlbr task marketplace carry a 10% + GST marketplace fee (minimum $5 + GST per job), in addition to the 1.9% + GST wlbr escrow fee. Both use the agreed price. Operators see their exact net take-home when they quote. There are no monthly fees or subscriptions.
wlbr serves New Zealand with funding and payouts in NZD. New-account availability is shown before signup and may be limited to a pilot. Task opens region by region; check the Task page before planning to post a job or find work. Existing customers can still sign in.
